They can be. Not every business needs SEO or blogs. If you have a product that is searched frequently then getting organic reach can help your efforts. But consider studying your audience to see how they buy. If a blog is enough then it would be a good investment. Take a look at competitors and or complimentary products and how they are engaging. Websites, social channels, ads, etc. Maybe videos work best, or social. Blogs are still relevant but it's not a necessity for every type of business or product.

IMHO it's never too late or too early to start writing blog post. Content is king. You can re-use the content as suggested. It's a garden that keeps bearing fruit. Use basic SEO tactics. Focus on long tail. Create links between posts when relevant.

Depends on your niche - Do a preliminary SEO search and understand if there is scope of gaining traffic from content marketing It can be an insane traffic channel, but identify how much you could scale first. You will need to hire someone to write blogs / seo / upload them etc. Unless you're really into content yourself.

Some niches lend themselves to blog content. Like a hardware store. How to do ABC? here's the list of products mentioned in the tutorial. If you have products that solve problems that get searched for then there's a natural path from content to purchase, blogs can land traffic that leads to sales directly. The other way blogs work is by forming a content pillar below a category page to help that page rank. So you have a page selling 'camping tents'. Surrounding that you have "how to fix a ripped tent" "types of tents" "our tent sizing guide" "how to setup a pup tent" etc. Then the correct content and internal linking pattern can help to improve the relevancy of the category page which can then have a better chance to rank for higher intent category search terms. The third way blogs help is backlinks. You can run outreach campaigns and broken link building to acquire links to your blogs which often can be easier than getting a link to a product or category page. Also,. If your content is better than what's it there and you're promoting it the right way, or you cover topics that attract links then you can passively acquire links from other sites over time.

We crossed $1MM last month ; don’t believe everything you hear (and DONT waste your time with blogs, most likely the people who say yes are competing in a completely saturated market and that’s why they need all the extra content they can muster)

SEO: As you know, content can bring you organic traffic via search engines. They may get you minimal traffic, but still, the blog may bring visitors to your shop that you never target. Share information: If you can provide extra information and tips on your products, your visitors/customers will value and appreciate them. For example, content about how to maintain or use your products, tips, even fun facts, technology, trends or history of the products, materials and market. As a customer, a shop with information can give me a good impression. If you are limited to resources, then do it when you have time or hire somebody to write a few posts every now and then. I can understand if this is not your priority, but it's relatively low-cost and relevant.
