A new dynamic difficulty system was designed to adjust the challenge level based on overall performance, and it has separate hitting and pitching settings for those who struggle or excel in one area. The broadcast team of Matt Vasgersian, Eric Karros, and Steve Lyons returns for its second year of commentary together, and for the first time in the history of the series, MLB 14 supports year-to-year saves, so players can import their Road to the Show and Franchise date into subsequent releases.
