The B660 chipset and LGA 1700 CPU socket work together to provide enhanced speeds with PCIe 5.0 capabilities boosting the overall performance of your system. This motherboard features Thunderbolt 4 support via an on-board header. The ASUS ThunderboltEX 4 add-on card (sold separately) is certified by Intel and can enable bi-directional speeds of up to 40 Gb/s on a single cable. Additionally, the card has a daisy-chain function for multiscreen connection and supports one display with up to 8K resolution. It can also provide up to 100 watts of power to fast-charge devices.

M.2 Storage

Three M.2 slots support PCIe 4.0 or 3.0 drives and provide NVMe SSD RAID support for a performance boost. Heatsinks

Two VRM heatsinks are placed above the MOSFETs and chokes to further increase surface area for heat dissipation.Two M.2 heatsinks cover three M.2 slots to keep M.2 SSDs at the optimal operating temperature for consistent performance and reliability.A dedicated chipset heatsink draws heat away to help ensure that temperatures stay within an optimal range.

Headers

Each header can be set to monitor and react to multiple user-configurable thermal sensors for workload-based cooling. All settings can be easily managed using the Fan Xpert 4 in Amoury Crate or via the UEFI. Every onboard header additionally supports auto-detection of PWM or DC fans, while a dedicated PWM/DC header provides power to self-contained water-cooling setups. A dedicated integrated circuit protects each fan header from excessive heat and voltages.

Security

ASUS Control Center Express software offers advanced security management functions to protect the system and confidential data. Enable or disable USB ports or set them to Read Only to prevent data leaks. For added security, a software blacklist is available to help identify high-risk applications. Remotely disable the Registry Editor on client devices to prevent unauthorized changes to system configurations.

ProArt Creator Hub

Two-Way AI Noise Cancelation is an audio utility that leverages a massive deep-learning database to reduce background noise from the microphone and incoming audio.
