Sean Blacka year agoWanting to start my own auto repair business. What business basics do I need? Hello everyone. I’ve been developing a plan to start my auto business for some time now and I’d like to start pressing forward. I’ve been in the industry for 5 years now with 3 of those years being in a managerial role at a small mom and pop shop. This includes doing a majority of the mechanical diagnosing and labor along with ordering parts, fluids, and sometimes selling jobs and talking to customers. Because of this experience it has been pushing me towards starting my own little shop. My concern is I don’t know much about how to legitimately start up a business specifically being how do I get recognized by the state I am a business. Do you need to go through the BBB and how hard of a process is that? How do I go about finding insurance and what kind of insurance would I need? I’ve been thinking about taking out a small business loan to help put a deposit down for a little shop, buy some tools, and maybe a deposit for insurance. I already have experience with getting tools, fluids, parts distributors, and customers so that’s not the part I’m worried about, more so the specific and legitimacy to make sure I’m running a proper business. If anyone has any sort of insight that would be much appreciated!10870
